The Swedish company Just Arrived and the Dutch Talent Data Labs have received a nomination for the first edition of the digital recruitment and selection awards in the category of ‘best innovation in selection’. The winner out of five contestants will be announced on October 12th in Utrecht.
The initiator behind the competition, Bas van de Haterd, created the platform ‘Digitaal-Werven.nl’ fifteen years ago to investigate what (corporate) career websites offer the best application experience to their candidates. Since the platform was founded, the ‘Digital Recruiting award’ has been presented every year, but recently a new category was added. Since this year, a five-member jury consisting of five experts in the HR industry will also announce the winner of the ‘Innovation in Selection award’, in which the nominated companies are judged on innovative content, scientific substantiation, candidate experience, and results. Both awards aim to inspire organizations by rewarding the best examples from the market and by putting the spotlight on parties that dare to innovate.
Everyone deserves a chance
One of this year’s nominees is Just Arrived, a website that helps to match refugees to jobs based on their personalities and skills. The foundation for Just Arrived was laid in the fall of 2015 when the refugee stream in Sweden started to increase drastically. In 2016, Just Arrived was created to provide these people with an honest chance in society by helping them find a job. Their overall mission is to be the leading integration hub in Sweden with tailor-made integration solutions that help companies improve their recruitment. The idea is that with broader networks, more competence will flow through in Sweden. They believe that in turn, this will help build better businesses, better organizations, and a better society in general.
Self-learning organizations
Back in 2021, Just Arrived started a collaboration with Talent Data Labs, a platform designed to help organizations from different sizes to become self-learning through people analytics. With the implementation of a wide variety of psychometric tests based on the Five Factor-model, general mental ability, and skill tests, Talent Data Labs offered the perfect solution to help Just Arrived by matching the right profile to the right vacancies, in a process in which a resume can be skipped. Because Dutch recruiters know little about many refugees' training and previous work experience, this helps them to get in touch with these high potential status holders. Thanks to the use of Talent Data Lab’s technology, Just Arrived is now able to help many more people who deserve a second chance. As a result, they are now the largest provider of refugee jobs, while the turnover of these organizations is much lower than before due to better matching.
